Unlocking the power of a digital engineering transformation

Driving a BIM approach in civil engineering

A digital engineering transformation is an ongoing process that influences concepts, techniques, and procedures that impact our business models from years now. Lombardi Group is actively driving an ongoing digital engineering transformation, shaping business models for the future. Central to this transformation is the adoption of the Building Information Modeling (BIM) and geomatics digital solutions, playing crucial roles in sustainable digital infrastructure management.

Our Core Team BIM (CTB), comprising experts and digital enthusiasts across Lombardi Group departments, has invested resources in the development of a platform where all Lombardi employees can easily find innovative solutions to manage and produce BIM projects at a higher level of maturity and performance. This interactive online platform, custom made to manage the infrastructural hydraulic or road and rail projects of Lombardi, serves as a hub for guidelines, object libraries and scripts, facilitating collaboration and knowledge-sharing. The CTB offers training in BIM project modeling, coordination, and management. It also provides comprehensive support for implementing digital BIM solutions.

Building Information Modeling (BIM) and geomatics are playing a pivotal role in the development of this transformation. Thanks to the combination of these innovative engineering approaches, we manage all stages of infrastructure throughout their lifecycle with a sustainable digital approach. For our clients, following the criteria of open innovation, we are developing multidisciplinary research projects focused on digitization applied to sustainable engineering. This includes exploring scenarios and future trends in the field of Virtual Design, Construction & Operation (VDCO) processes.
