On November 28, 2024, Lombardi Austria embarked on its traditional team excursion, which this year took us to the picturesque region of South Tyrol. The afternoon began with a visit to Säben Monastery, followed by an exploration of the glacial-era Earth Pyramids of Lengmoos. We ended the day in good company, enjoying Törggelen at the Putzerhof tavern in Lajen.

Brenner Base Tunnel – Start-up Ceremony of the Tunnel Boring Machines Wilma and Olga

The start-up ceremony on September 18, 2024, marked a significant milestone in the construction of this international infrastructure project. The event symbolically celebrated the start of tunnel excavation as the high-performance boring machines broke through the first meters of rock. Representatives of the involved companies and politicians honored the technical achievement and the progress of the project, which plays a pivotal role in the transport connection between Austria and Italy.

Brenner Base Tunnel – Completion of Separation Walls in the Connection Tunnels

The separation walls in the Connection Tunnels East and West of H41 construction lot have been successfully completed, marking a significant milestone in the construction project. With an impressive length of approximately 2,280 meters in the East tunnel and about 3,600 meters in the West tunnel, these structures are key components of the Connection Tunnels.
