On May 20, 2025, the breakthrough of the west main tunnel took place – another milestone in the project's progress. The first breakthrough on the Austrian side had already occurred in September 2024 in the parallel-running east main tunnel.

The double-shield tunnel boring machine (TBM) Wilma is in operation in the western main tunnel of the Brenner Base Tunnel. It will excavate approximately 7.5 kilometers of tunnel towards Innsbruck between kilometer 24.1 and 16.7. Since its launch on September 18, 2024, more than a thousand tunnel lining segments have already been installed in the western tube.

On February 10, 2025, we met at the ice rink at Lake Rossau. After refreshing our knowledge of the game rules, we equipped ourselves with ice stocks and a target puck (Daube). After a few test throws, the game began. This time, we competed in two teams of four players each. As the game progressed, our throws became more precise, turning it into a neck-and-neck race. We ended the evening with a dinner together at the restaurant "Deck 47".

On November 13 and 14, 2024, a delegation of Indian railway engineers visited the Brenner Base Tunnel (BBT) to gain detailed insight into one of Europe’s most significant infrastructure projects.

On November 28, 2024, Lombardi Austria embarked on its traditional team excursion, which this year took us to the picturesque region of South Tyrol. The afternoon began with a visit to Säben Monastery, followed by an exploration of the glacial-era Earth Pyramids of Lengmoos. We ended the day in good company, enjoying Törggelen at the Putzerhof tavern in Lajen.
