«In a sustainable development context, the pursuit of energy savings, cost reductions and waste minimization has increasingly spurred interest in deploying LED technology lighting in tunnels.»

The 10 km-long tunnel, fully commissioned in 2009 for the first phase and in 2011 for the second, is subject to an extensive upgrade and modernization program of its facilities: lighting, Building Management System (BMS), tunnel ventilation, radiocommunication, Automatic Incident Detection (AID), Emergency Roadside Telephones (ERT), signage, video surveillance, fire safety and ventilation of technical rooms.

COFIROUTE, the concessionaire of the tunnel, entrusted Lombardi Ingénierie with the Project Management of the relamping project of the Duplex A86 tunnel, which includes 18’000 light points.

Our mission takes up the results of an experiment carried out in 2019 to draw up the tender documents for the project:

supply, installation and commissioning of the boards to replace the existing 35W and 80W tubes – retrofiting of existing equipment;
definition of principles for intervention works under signaling and night works in compliance with safety regulations and operation and maintenance interfaces;

Since the award of the contract, our team has been monitoring the execution (VISA, DET and AOR activities), particularly in assisting and managing the performance tests and operations prior to acceptance.
