Lead Resident design Engineer

100%–100% | Sydney

The Lead Resident Design Engineer will be part of the current DJV (Design Joint Venture) REDST (Resident Engineer Design Site Team). He/she will be based in the Snowy 2.0 project sites office full-time during the construction phase of the Snowy 2.0 hydro project (NSW, Australia) and will be involved in day-to-day REDST team activities and tasks with respect to TBM and D&B tunnelling, shafts, and intake excavations. He/She will lead the Lombardi REDST (Resident Engineer Design Site Team) and will be mainly involved in the REDST resource allocations and planning, REDST tasks scheduling and management, deliverables, quality control, and meeting with the Clients.

Stellenbeschreibung

  • Perform resident design engineer tasks related to TBM/D&B tunnelling and IPS, including back analysis, design verifications, and responding to RFIs (request for information). Site support during the construction phase in responding to FGJV requests for field (design) changes, requests for information, the definition of non-conformity remedial measures, and review of as-built documentation.
  • Liaise with the client to ensure the design and its requirements are understood by the construction and technical teams. Attend regular internal/external meetings as requested by the Client and Lombardi Project Manager and Project Director.
  • Attend regular technical meetings with the Contractor/Employer. Assess ground conditions and ground behaviours in response to the TBM excavation in accordance with the relevant technical specifications and drawings.
  • Provide suggestions on TBM tunnelling construction methods, segmental lining installation, testing, fissure/consolidation/backfill/cavity grouting, probe drilling, geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring and lab/in-situ testing in accordance with the project technical specifications and drawings. Conduct regular site visits and evaluate the construction methods in line with the design intent. Review and approve as-built drawings of TBM tunnels.
  • Liaise with the DJV design manager and Lombardi back-office design teams regarding design requirements, project technical specifications, design verifications and other technical-related matters, such as as-built drawings review and approval; and Other tasks and responsibilities related as assigned by the Lombardi project Director.

Anforderungen

  • should have at least twenty (20) years of industry experience in the design with sufficient construction site experience, preferably in hydropower projects; should have sufficient experience in managing of engineering teams
  • should have a degree in Civil Engineering and have preferably professional registration status; should have experience in the design and construction of TBM/D&B tunnels, in particular, ground assessments using probe hole data during TBM excavation, tunnel instrumentation and monitoring systems and data interpretation.
  • should have a valid driving license.
