Inauguration of the Turin-Ceres railway

A 360° revolution for the Grosseto district of Turin

«A huge 5 km revolution for a district with 120,000 inhabitants that serves as a gateway to Turin for tourism, including international tourism, through the direct connection with Caselle airport»
A work that has been awaited for many years is finally finished. The Turin-Ceres railway, financed with more than 230 million euro by RFI and the Piedmont Region, was inaugurated on Friday 19 January 2024 and now makes it possible to reach the Venaria royal palace, Turin-Caselle airport and the Lanzo valleys in just a few minutes from Turin.

The work involved the demolition of an imposing overpass that gave rise to the 'Bridge|50' project, the construction of a new railway tunnel with two underground stations, a new road tunnel, new water networks, and the modern redevelopment of the entire C.so Grosseto on the surface with an eye for sustainable mobility and the life of several neighbourhoods.

LOMBARDI INGEGNERIA, together with LOMBARDI SA Ingegneri Consulenti, took care, on behalf of the companies ITINERA and C.M.B. and the contracting station SCR Piemonte, of all the Executive and Construction Design as well as all the technical assistance to the construction site during the works up to the testing and commissioning phases of all the infrastructures.

The inauguration was attended by some representatives of LOMBARDI INGEGNERIA and several politicians, including the Mayor of Turin Stefano Lo Russo, the President of the Piedmont Region Alberto Cirio, the Councillor for Tourism Vittoria Poggio, the Councillor for Transport Marco Gabusi, the CEO of RFI Gianpiero Strisciuglio, the CEO of Trenitalia Luigi Corradi, the CEO of SAGAT (Turin Airport) Andrea Andorno, the Minister for Infrastructure and Transport Matteo Salvini and the Minister for Public Administration Paolo Zangrillo.
